you’re still in the walls here
whispering through the cracks
i’ve painted over every shadow
but you keep bleeding through in black
the bed is colder on your side
but i swear it still caves in
like it remembers the weight of you
and the way you used to sin in skin
i burn the letters,
but the smoke just writes you in the sky
you come back every time
like you don’t know how to die
and maybe i’m the ghost here,
pacing through your old mistakes
scratching at the edges of your memory
until something in you breaks
you’re in my bones,
in the water in my lungs
and i can’t tell anymore
if you’re haunting me —
or if i’m haunting you
